CdSe quantum dots of varying size show bright and tunable fluorescence. The blue-green particles on the left are the smallest, with a diameter around 2 nm. Going to the right, the size of the particle increases as the emission shifts to the red. The Kavli ENSI members include theorists, leaders in characterizing nanostructures, experts at synthesizing materials, and researchers who can combine nanostructures into novel energy devices.
